Let us talk a little about some things enjoyed on fun ship vacations. You might have already gathered that I love to cruise. 

To date, I have cruised more times on a Carnival Fun Ship than with any other cruise line – Norwegian, Princess Cruises, or Royal Caribbean.

While there are many things to mention, I want to highlight three main things that really like on my cruise vacations.

By the way, we are only talking about Carnival Cruise Line, since their ships are dubbed “Fun Ships.”

Dining Options

I remember the first Carnival cruise that my family took and how awkward it was for us and two young boys sitting with another couple without kids. This we did for lunch and dinner. At that time, we were not aware of any other dining options.

That changed.

On any Fun Ship vacation to the Caribbean, you can choose from several options: dining early, dining later, Your Time Dining, visiting a specialty restaurant, or eating at the buffet.

To dine early or late means sitting at a fixed table with the same people for lunch or dinner.  

Your Time Dining means that you can go to dinner in the main dining room between fixed hours and be seated at any available table. This has become our dining option of choice.

I love the flexibility of the dining options.  

You can choose to eat all meals in the formal dining room or all meals in the buffet restaurant. You may also order room service 24 hours per day.

Youth Program

We have four children, so it helps not having to worry about them every minute of the day. You will enjoy your Fun Ship cruise vacations for this. There is a well-organized program for your toddlers through the teenage years.

As you can imagine, there is greater supervision for the younger ones.

You can rest easy knowing that there are trained professionals looking after your children and allowing you and your lover all the time you need to spend together.

Your Fun Ship’s youth department - Camp Carnival – also offers after hours babysitting for a fee.

If you are a late person or simply want to hang out late one night with your spouse, they have you covered.

Exotic Destinations

Carnival Cruise Lines gets you to some of the hottest destinations in the Caribbean. Whether you choose a Western Caribbean, Eastern Caribbean or Southern Caribbean cruise itinerary, your fun ship will get you to places that you love.

When you think of the Western Caribbean, expect to visit places like Ocho Rios and its treasure – Dunn’s River Falls - in Jamaica; and Grand Cayman and its beautiful Seven Mile Beach in the Cayman Islands.

For the Eastern Caribbean, explore Emerald Beach in St. Thomas, or the beautiful St. Maarten/St. Martin.  Then explore the richness of Barbados or St. Lucia on a Southern Caribbean cruise.

You will return from your trip, having visited new places that leave you wanting more. Your Fun Ship vacation will go on record as the best family vacation you have ever taken.
